english mostly comes from germanic languages due to the saxons and the angles ("angleland" now known as "england") (also the reason for "anglo-saxon"), germanic (around germany and denmark) tribes that migrated to the british isles. then you know roman empire, adrian's wall and shit, then feuds over the throne of france
now iberian romance languages have some muslim influence, since muslim caliphates held most of the peninsula for longer than the roman cunts
